ANIMAL RELIEF FUND

The ANIMAL RELIEF FUND provides financial aid to help qualifying Dona Ana County pet owners with veterinary care, helping to prevent animal suffering and allowing pet owners to keep their animals rather than surrender them to the animal shelter because they can't afford veterinary care.

Pet Food Assistance

Food 4 Paws provides FREE dog and cat food on a bi-weekly basis to more than 250 pets owned by City of Las Cruces Meals on Wheels clients. Pets get the food they need and our clients, many of whom are socially isolated, benefit from the interaction with our pet-loving volunteer team recruited from the City’s Volunteer Network.

Veterinary Care Assistance

Food 4 Paws facilitates access to veterinary care for current City of Las Cruces Meals on Wheels clients, covering associated costs pending fund availability. Regrettably, our program did not secure the sought-after grant this year to support veterinary care. Nevertheless, we are actively exploring future opportunities to reinstate this vital service.

Grooming

Food 4 Paws collaborates with local businesses to offer grooming services to current City of Las Cruces Meals on Wheels clients. The availability of funds is essential to provide these services. We appreciate your understanding, as funding determines our ability to extend this valuable support.

Additional Services

Food 4 Paws also works with volunteers and community partners to provide services such as vaccinations, spaying, and neutering. Food 4 Paws is able to easily utilize donations of cat litter, as well as dry and canned cat and dog food. We also accept new or gently used pet supply items such as collars, leashes, bedding, toys, scratching posts, etc… Donations can be dropped off at the Eastside Community Center, located at 310 N. Tornillo St. Monday through Friday from 8 am to 2 pm.
